WE had some great help installing The FOREST from Walter, Ian and Ryan.

Behind the Scenes

The firing of the tiles went perfectly with the expert help of Kory, Dunbar's talented and patient pottery instructor.

We placed the tiles on a few boards on Nancy's dining room floor to begin the placement process and to get a better idea of how it may look.

We scored the wood behind every tile for a good glue bond.

All the tiles are glued to the 8 boards.

We play with the arrangement the TREES on the floor in Robin's Studio before the final installation. We know there will be changes because of the curve of the stairwell wall. We prepare as much as we can for the inevitable surprises.

The TREES are bundled up and taken to the community center for the next day's installation.

Dunbar's Holiday Fair Nov 28

We were busy all day polishing the tiles that have been fired and they are beautiful! Folks came in to visit us and to work on the Ephemeral Friezes and learn about The FOREST tile mural that will be installed in the stairway going up to the 2nd floor.
